Assistant Catering Supervisor/Cook

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our catering team in a senior role, working with and reporting directly to the Head of Catering, to provide exceptional food and service to our patients and visitors.

  • Support the Head of Catering to meet Key Performance Indicators.
  • Supervise and mentor junior catering staff members to ensure operational needs are met to the highest standard.
  • Prepare and cook quality food across different meal services, with an understanding of dietary requirements.
  • Meal service, including direct interaction with patients and visitors – excellent customer service skills and a pleasant bed side manner are essential.
  • Ensure food safety and cleaning processes are adhered to.
  • Assist with the management of supplies, ordering and deliveries, equipment and general kitchen maintenance.
  • Work with staff from all departments in the hospital, in particular the clinical team to ensure all patient dietary requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with Hospital Senior Management to implement business improvements, as required.

This is a permanent full time position.

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous catering and food safety experience essential. Previous catering experience in a healthcare setting is desirable.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work well with others.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, desirable.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident, or hold the relevant visa for employment in Australia.
  • Police Check.
  • Up to date vaccination record.
